Is it a crimminal offense to laugh at a fat child?

In a grocery store, I laughed at a little kid that was a little big. I was the employee and am pretty sure the mother saw me but I told her a different reason for why I was laughing and she believed it. Could I be fired for this? Or is it crimminal or anything? Of course it was very rude and impolite, but what is the worst that could happen?
 
nothing. the worst case scenario was that the mother would go up to you slap you across the face for laughing at her son and call the manager out and get you fired for rude, impolite service. but... she believed you. so that didn't happen. NO, you can't get ARRESTED for laughing at a fat child.
it's just really really really really, realyrealy, REALLY, reeeeeaaaalllllyyyyyyyy, mean.
