Is it a pr-requisite to be pro-religion to discuss religion or can we all join in?

The diversity of world views is what makes this site so interesting. There are plenty of other sites dedicated to particular views if that's all I wanted to hear about.

I loathe and despise religion, and yet, here I am.

EDIT: Super kitteh wants to talk about hate speech eh? Pot meet kettle. We have all seen his hateful posts about gay people.

It would be nice to have a religion discussion with people of all beliefs, unfortunately yahoo answers is a battle ground for believers and non believers. In all honesty, they're all closed minded!

I like opposing views.
Objectivity in religion, as in other topics, gives a fresh perspective and a reason to think about what I believe in.

Does one necessarily need to be pro-LGBT to to discuss LGBT or can we all join in.

Basically one doesn't necessarily have to be a cat to speak in the cat section.

Atheists do not have to abide by or live in a religion to have an opinion or stance on the subject.

To Super Kitteh - atheists don't run down all religions.. I know several atheists on this site that have MANY religious contacts and friends, and not just from your religion or spiritual belief either, but then in your eyes there is only one religion and the rest are bullshit right?

All that's required is that you be interested enough in the topic to want to participate. Is it necessary to belong to a political party to discuss politics?
