Is it advisable to talk about sexism in religions?

I'm doing a project in Ethics, and we have to produce a presentation (to be printed) about Prejudice and Discrimination.
One of our tasks is to explore certain aspects of Prejudice and Discrimination, such as ageism, racism, etc.
I'm a atheist, and have recently read 'The God Delusion' by Richard Dawkins, which mentions some sexist aspects of certain religions. Could I include this in my project? I happen to know for a fact my Ethics teacher is a Christian, but I could hardly leave that out.
At the moment, I'm just talking about the different types in general, for example:
'Ageism is when a person is discriminated against because of their age, whether it be old or young. A example of ageism is a older person being refused a job purely because they are older, and the person possibly employing them has prejudices about older people as workers.'
I want to go more in-depth with my sexism study, as I know there's a lot of stuff in different religions that preach that women are 'lower' than men in society, and this would be good to include in my project.
I just don't want to offend anyone by suggesting that it is wrong to practice these religions because of these sexist elements, as the teacher may assume I am prejudiced! Which I'm not, as I have nothing against the practicers of the religions, just I dislike the religions themselves.

Sexism is fundamental to most religions. I challenge you to find one where women are given more responsibility and value than men.
