i have a few friends that i play card games and an arcade game with in college, but there's just nothing that i wanna know about them. i don't talk much to them or start a conversation, and i don't really care if this person likes this or if that person likes that. i find myself isolated from them, or just standing outside of the crowd without saying anything, yet, i hang around them most of the time.
i'm only comfortable talking to my cousin, and that's only because we're both into exercise (so we talk a lot of working out) and we've been childhood friends.
do you think it's bad to hang around someone frequently who you have no interest in knowing? i've been trying to be more social, but i just can't. i would ask one or two questions, and that's it. how do you be more talkative? how can i gain this habit of genuinely wanting to connect with someone instead of conversing solely to break the awkward silence?
