Is it illegal to scream at a child you dont know?

This lady comes up to me and my friend screaming at us saying we threw 13 sticks at this girl. She is lieing and its not fair she's taking her daughters side. Anywayss is it illegal to scream in a childs face? If you can give a link as proof
 
It's not illegal unless she yells something totally innapropriate or threatens you. The most you can do is file a complaint and then they will tell her not to do that.
 
Verbal Harassment is what its called and depending on how bad it is at worst if its just one occasion you could only her a fine.
 
Nope not illegal. However you can be sued by todays laws, but they will not win that case so nothing to worry about.
 
Okay, first of all, how old are you? If you're roughly the same age as the child, then probably not.

Secondly, you're probably not going to get in front of a judge if this lady was screaming first and in your face. If you're under the age of 16(sometimes 17) then you were verbally assaulted/abused under child abuse laws in most states, and she would go to jail.

Third, did she have the sticks as proof? Did she take a picture? If not, this is going to be impossible to even get a cop to listen, much less prove in front of a jury or in front of a judge.
