Is it illegal to use a verizon phone with t-mobile?

I have a t mobile account and I want to use a verizon blackberry so I put my sim card in the verizon phone and it worked and I can call and text but my Internet doesnt work. So my question is can I call t mobile and tell them I'm using a verizon phone to fix the Internet issue or will that get me in trouble? Also if anyone has a clue how to fix the problem without calling t mobile let me know

no its not illegal..some verizon phone have unlocked sim card slots.
not all feature will work,but in most cases you can make calls.

I don't understand how you were able to do that because Verizon's phones don't even use sim cards. Are you sure you're not mistaken about the phone you used? It must have been an AT&T or TMobile phone

there's a ton of shit around that subject. here's my view... I've had a jail broken iPhone on tmobile for years.
