'cause that's what looks like it's happening right NOW. And I'm a little disturbed. So far I've been seeing more and more cartoon profile pics these days than in the last little while. Is it the new trend? 'cause I'm not going to settle for a cartoon of me. I've seen some Disney, anime, comic book, muppet characters... not more human faces. Next thing you know, we're seeing aliens and monsters. worse: VAMPIRES that look gay.
 
People are also using them for privacy. They prefer to put a picture of something animated rather than a picture of themselves that anyone with internet access can see.

From what i heard its a fb thing. To show your opposition to child abuse but I also heard it was a setup by pedos to make kids add them.
