Is it ok for my guy friend to hurt me and call me names, even if he says he's joking?

My best guy friend always out of nowhere will hurt me. He'll slap me, punch me, pinch me, pull my hair, and he will like twists my fingers all the time to the point where it's extremely painful. It doesn't leave scars or marks but it sure as hell hurts. Also, he also calls me names like bitchez, slut, whore, hoe, ugly, a cuntze, and other names like this. Out of nowhere he'll be like " You fuckinz bitchze" and he'll slap me. He says he's joking but I don't find it funny. I tell him to stop hurting me and calling me names but he won't. It's really starting to get on my nerves and I'm getting frusterated with him and I hate it when he does it. We got in a fight over this but I'm a overreacting? The weird thing is that he really likes me and I really like him too. What should I do? I can't put up with this anymore.
