...to be 30ft lbs? I replaced the water pump on 4.3 S10 yesterday. The paper that came with the Autozone pump said I could torque it down between 25-35 ft lbs, so I figured the more the better and torqued it to 35 ft lbs. On the other hand the Hayes manual factory specs for the truck says to use 30 for the torque specs. Am I going to hurt anything leaving it at 35. Like the bolts breaking off, or getting stuck in the block when I need to remove it in the future. I'm more worried about damaging the engine block than the pump. It isn't leaking at all, and drove it 500 miles without a problem.
