Is it ok to leave a spider plant outdoors, or should I bring it inside?

A friend of mine some time ago gave me a spider plant which I've been keeping outdoors and he suggested more than once that I bring it indoors, knowing I could not bring it in myself before the frost. My question is, is a spider plant safe outdoors all seasons, or should I bring it indoors til Spring? My place is small, and my friend does not want the plant back, but again, never once offered to bring it inside for me. I haven't seen him in months now and am just tempted to junk the thing.
PondLady, I am handicapped, and cannot lift. I am on crutches, and have a bad spine.

It has to come inside to make it through a freeze. Why should a friend schlepp the plant indoors when it is at your house? If you want it, pick it up and bring it inside. Or wait until it is a pile of brown mush and then throw it away.

Pond lady is right, a freeze will kill it.

To me spider plants are different, because they bear live young. I hate to see them die, it kills their offspring too. Any plant babies on the stem are toast, as well as next years.
