is it okay to give a future employer my bank account num?

a future employer has offered to advance a weeks pay so i can take care of some bills. this place is over an hour away so i cant drive to go pick up a check. is it okay to send him my account number so he can wire the money to me? what could go wrong with this? the account currently has 6 dollars in it
 
If you can't trust your employer with your account number, you should not be taking the job.
