Is it okay to lift weights before you have your period?

My friends and I are on a club volleyball team and wanted to workout and lift weights, run, and practice before our next volleyball tournament. Some of us haven't had our period and some of them are saying that it's not healthy for you to lift weights before you have your period because it will only hurt your muscles.
Is this true? Can we lift weights before our period? Help!?

Of course you can lift weights before your period. It doesn't hurt your muscles at all. Your period has nothing to do with your physical activity so work out as much as you want
