is it possible to install exhaust stacks on a gasonline run truck?

i have a 96 dodge ram ext cab shortbox. With a 5.9L Magnum V8. I want to replace the exhaust system i have with a set of stacks. From what ive read only people with diesels have installed it. Would it effect my engines performance IE backpressure? any information would be great.

It's possible but not practical. It will take away from your performance by rerouting the exhaust and it may also prevent you from passing your smog test.
