Is it possible to make a satellite dish signal distorted?

I was wondering if it's possible to distort a satellite signal by doing something to the satelite dish? Someone suggested shining a laser light at but, it doesn't seem to work. I want to do something to the satellite dish so that the signal going to the TV distorts however, it has to be something that won't damage the dish... any ideas?
