...payment? I'm going into Air Force basic training soon and I'm wondering if it's possible for me to temporarily disconnect my cellphone for the 2 months I'm going to be there.

Would I still have to pay monthly?

I have Sprint by the way.
 
There is "Vacation Mode" but you still have to pay a small fee. Not too certain what it is, it may be $10 or a bit more. Just call your customer service (you can dial *2 from your celly) and tell them that you'll be leaving for a couple months and will need to suspend or put in vacation made. Keep in mind that however long you do it for is the same amount of time that they extend your contract for.
