Is it reasonable to buy an Ipod Touch 4g, or is it better to buy and Iphone 4?

I have an Ipod nano 4th gen and am not quite satisfied with it. I want something with more applications and features on it. I also have a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. I'm also not satisfied with it because its apps are lame, and it does not support multitouch function. So, I was wondering, if I should buy and Ipod Touch 4g or an Iphone 4. If Iphone, its costly, and I already have a messaging device. If Ipod Touch, it does not support messaging. I already have a laptop, i3 processor. but I want something I can carry around that has a whole set of fun in it.
 
I say that if you can get the iPhone 4, get the iPhone 4. If you can't, the iPod touch will do just fine and you can send messages over wifi only. On the iPhone you can get the same feature that the iPod touch but with a phone. I tried to have only the iPod touch but then carrying to devices was to much. I sold the iPod touch and got the iPhone 4
 
buy an ipod touch and keep your phone, it saves you (according amazon) £464 just so you can have the phone and text and 3g features in your iphone..your nokia does phone and text and tbh 3g is not worth £464, many places now have wifi spots anyway now and more are being made all the time. i have a touch 3g and a sony erricson c510, it seems like a big waste of money to spend all that just for a couple of extra features, its like paying £464 more for a touch screen computer - its nice to have but just isnt worth it.
if you really want to get rid of the phone then buy a touch and a £20 crappy phone. i mean £218.10 for a 32gb touch or £682.99 for a 32gb iphone? i know which i'd choose

oh and those extras i said you get with the iphone are the only ones you get, the rest is the same, and remember the 32gb of memory will be taken up by usual phone things like ringtones and contacts, sms etc. almost all the apps are the same, the operating system is the same (+ phone and sms) and in my opinion the case looks worse.
