Pot is virtually harmless (so long as it isn't laced with anything). It has never been proven to cause any health problems, it doesn't even give people a hang over, and is not chemically addictive. It is illegal because there was a time when it began to be a replacement for many things previously made from lumber, the lumber companies were losing money and, as sleazy as this is, they payed off politicians to make it illegal and start anti-cannibis campaigns. Now days other industries are hard at work keeping it illegal (i.e. beer companies, paper companies, and any one else who would be negatively affected were it legalized) and taboo. In some states, however, it is legal to be used medicinally to help with insomnia, anxiety, etc. And in some places it is perfectly legal to use it recreationaly, Sweden, for instance. Their crime rates actually went down after it was legalized. In other words, pot really isn't bad for you, so long as you are responsible. It is only illegal because of greedy corporations.
