Are Muslims even allowed to believe Jesus Christ is the son of God? And if some of them do believe He is the son of God, is that a bad thing?

Well, the belief that Jesus Christ is the son of God is not really a cornerstone of Islam. Jesus, in Islam, was just a messenger of God and the Masih (Messiah) and was sent to guide the Children of Israel with the Injil (the Gospel) and foretold the coming of Muhammad. He was born to a virgin Maryam (Mary) and did perform miracles. However, they think that he was brought up alive into Heaven, like Elijah and Enoch, and not crucified for the sins of the world.
Jesus Christ in Christianity is the son of God, the Messiah, and the only way to Heaven. So, if someone believes that Jesus was the son of God, then they're either a Messianic Jew or a Christian, since that's not a characteristic of Islam.

If you truly believe that Jesus Christ is the son of god you should convert to Christianity but hold on to your muslim beliefs

You should because he is the Son of God...

It's never wrong to believe the truth. Christ will welcome you to the gift of eternal life if you come in Faith and Repentance. Romans 10:9-10 " If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." obtain a Holy Bible and begin your life in Christ through study and worship. Good Luck Brother.

Yes, that is Shirk (associating someone with God) which is the unforgivable sin if they die believing that.

ALLAH is One.
He neither begets, nor is begotten.

Jesus is just a beloved Prophet.
This is stated in the Quran many times.
So no Muslim believes that.

Yes, it is. It is also wrong to be a Muslim. It is wrong to believe in anything that is not supported by evidence.

You certainly can believe that Jesus is the Son of God just don't tell your muslim family or friends.

thats the biggest sin in Islam and it is called "Shirk"

the first part of a Muslim's testament of faith (what considers you being a muslim) is believing in one god alone whose name is Allah (Allah just means god in arabic but we stick with that name because it means something that CANNOT BE COMPARED TO)

Nothing can compare to God EVEN Jesus.

God sent Jesus and you can't accept any part of the creation to be divinely related to the creator.

Surah Ikhlas " Nor did he beget, nor was he begotten"

he was not born, nor did he have any offspring

It contradicts the Muslim religion, but no you are not wrong and it is not a bad thing if you have your own beliefs!

We do not believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, because we do not believe that God would change into creature-like. In the Quran, Surah 112 verse 3 it is said:

"He begets not, nor is He begotten"

or roughly means He did not born anything and was not born from anything
By that verse so we do not think that Jesus is the son of God, because He do not gave birth to anything. But yet, He creates. So Jesus is also God creation.

So if like Thomas Alfa Edison created light bulb did he took the light bulbs as his children?
