Is joining the Marines the right thing to do while in a serious relationship?

I'm supposed to be taking the asvab, and enlisting into the Marine Corps this coming tuesday. But, I've been having a lot of second thoughts lately about leaving my girlfriend behind. I love her so much, we've been together for almost 4 years now, and love spending time with her. She says we will try our best to make things work, but I know she says that to make me feel better. Im going to be 23 next month and when I get out of the Marines I'll be 27. Does it make more sense to join now, or go back to school and go the blue collar route and stay with my girl?
 
It's either the military or her...make your choice. Live or die you decide.
 
If she really loves you she will still be there when you get out.
 
No man, my uncle found out that his wife had an affair while he was in afghanistan, he was not very happy about it, I appreciate your willingness to serve this country but please do weigh your priorities before you take such important decisions. Regards, Garry
