Is Kauai in Hawaii a nice place to vacation?

I am considering Kauai for my whole family and the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa for the hotel? is this ideal for the whole family? Can you tell me about your experience there, and possibley a review of the hotel?
There will be 3 kids and about 5 adults?
