I'm a 14 year old girl, 5'5 and 140lb (but I am in pretty good shape, I run a lot, about half a mile every week and once a month I time my mile 8.05 for August)
I just want a good work out and learn self defense, I was going to take aikido but I came across a closer dojo near my home. They also teach karate and judo, and is the price okay?: $80 a month, twice a week, an hour each session but its $120 for two kids and I didn't ak for the enrollment fee. Free uniform. I spoke to the instructor and he seems legit with his credentials but I have yet to step foot into the dojo.

I think that any kind of kenpo/Kempo is great for anyone. It centers itself around the individual instead if a generalized person. So yes, it's good for you. Although, that seems like a lot of money...

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or Judo would be better... these are very effective martial arts for girls.

Don't bother with traditional Jujutsu - it's impractical and outdated. Occasionally, we get traditional Jujutsu guys coming to our BJJ class... they get their asses kicked all the time. Last week, a brown belt in that system came to our class and got smashed by one of our white belts (who'd only been training for about 6 months).
