Is Limewire filesharing legal, it doesnt owrk on vista?

Is limewire legal to use? i run a pc with windows xp, another with mac osx , both work fine but my new pc with vista ,limewire wont work on, is it legal to use limewire ?

filesharing is illegal if the stuff your distrubuting is copyrighted.
