Is my car's electrical system strong enough to not have to install a car...

...audio capacitor? I have a 2007 Honda Accord sedan SE and I am currently having a stero system installed in it. It's a 1000w Kenwood amplifier and two 12" Kenwood subs. I don't want my lights to dim ( they don't dim yet because I haven't finished installing) everytime the bass hits. I've been reading other answers about whether you need a capacitor or not, and the answers are always spilt down the middle. Half the people who respond say you don't need it, and the other half say you do. I really need some advice here. Please advise me!!!

I've noticed with my capacitor that before it was hooked up i was not able to turn my head-unit up past a certain point or else the amp would shut off due to it not being able to get the power from the battery fast enough. Once i hooked up my capacitor (which was 2 farads and my subs were 500 watts and you only need 1 farad for every 500 watts) i was able to turn the head-unit all the way up and the amp wouldn't shut off or distort in any way. From my experience, if your lights are dimming a capacitor will not help because my lights still dim if the bass is up but if you are just having problems with turning your head-unit up and having the amp shut off then a capacitor will actually help. Hope that I have helped!

your cars stock electrical system is desinged to handle the stock load, in other words it is not built to handle aftermarket accesories, start buy upgrading the batt and alt, and related cables.
