Is my keyboard ok after a spill?

so i spilled about a few drops of water on my keyboard, mostly on the Space Button area. it moved on a little 2 the back. so for now im using my onscreen-keyboard so sorry 4 the bits of chatspeak do you think my computer keyboard would still work fine? It only spilled near the space bar and flowed a bit onto the back, but not much. My dad got angry and just dripped out the rest of the water. This has happened a few multiple times, not even spilling on the ENTIRE keyboard, so do you think my keyboard would be okay?

It should be. For safety precautions, unplug your keyboard from the computer, and shake any droplets still inside the keyboard. Take a blow dryer, and set it to low. Blow dry it from about a foot away for 15second intervals, do this 2 or 3 times, and plug the keyboard back in. See if it works. If not, then the water touched a contact underneath the plastic, and shorted out the keyboard. If it works, then you have dried all the condensation out from the keyboard and it is safe to use again. This follows the basic logic of 'if you wash a jump drive with you clothes, you better dry it with them as well.'

It should be fine. If you think drops of water got inside, let the keyboard dry for a couple of hours just to make sure. As long as it's just plain water, it should work okay once the water dries up.

No one can really answer that for you. It all really depends. It could depend on whether it was turned on and receiving power at the time. It could depend on the way the keyboard is built, or depend on the type of connection you're using.

The easiest way...it just to try. You won't be electrocuted by it. You won't hurt anything else by plugging it in (Unless the cord somehow has water on it). Just plug it in. Try it. Make sure all the keys work. If they work...the keyboard is fine. If one doesn't seem to respond or the lights won't go on...then you need to buy a new one.
