Do you think that to many people care to much about prom?
Most chicks get bitchy, some guys do. Who the fuck cares, in a couple years you won't give a shit. The best part of prom is the party afterwards. right?

Seriously, the best part of any school related event is either the after-party with your friends, or the after-party with your "special someone" (for lack of a better phrase...).

IMO prom is not over-rated. It is a once is a lifetime experience that you will remember for the rest of your life. I had an awesome time at Junior prom despite having a less then desirable date and I think Senior Prom is going to be an absolute blast.

it generally the worst dance of the year. everyone has dates so no1 dances with any1 but their date. i go to eat the food and make the date happy, after party is where its at
