I've been using my PS2 as a DVD player for years and it works great. Does the PS3 play Blu-ray movies as well as other Blu-ray players and as well as the PS2 plays DVDs? Does it respond well to the remote control?
i wouldnt say that 500$ for a blu ray player is worth it. If your not going to play the games i would say that you should just get a standard dvd player 500$ is a lot of money. Ps3 doesnt have a good collection of games either so i wouldnt buy it for games and otherwise its too expensive.
If your going to spend $500 for blu-ray player only, dont waste money on a PS3, buy a $500 blu-ray player only. The hardware should be better for the money.
its a blu ray player just like the rest but instead of spending the same amount of money (pretty much) on a blu ray player you get a blu ray player a computer a cd player a dvd player and a game system so now ask yourself if it is worth it
