will pure nicotine really kill you? i read somewhere that one drop will kill you. is this really true? because that means people that smoke are smoking poison.

Of course were smoking poison, that's why it's so bad for us.....and why none of us should do it.

"One drop of pure nicotine is enough to kill a person. Smokers receive much smaller doses than that in tobacco products, however. For instance, a cigarette contains approximately 10 milligrams of nicotine, but only one or two milligrams is inhaled directly by the smoker." http://quitsmoking.about.com/od/nicotine/p/nicotineprofile.htm

Smokers are smoking poison anyway without the nicotine.

There are 4000 chemicals in one cigarette and include:

Arsenic (deadly poison...used in rat poison)
Hydrogen Cyanide (gas chamber poison)
Benzene (petrol additive)
Formaldehyde (embalming fluid for dead bodies)
Napthalene (a killer ingredient found in mothballs)
DDT (a pesticide used to kill insects)
Vinyl Chloride (a chemical used to make plastic)
Carbon Monoxide (car exhaust fumes)
Polonium-210 (a radioactive substance)
Ammonia (toilet cleaner)
Acetone (nail polish remover)
Turpentine (paint stripper)
Propylene Glycol (anti freeze)
TAR - Tar is a black and sticky residue used to cover road surfaces.
It clogs up the lungs and causes lung cancer. 70% deposits in the lungs.
It contains many cancer-causing substances such as:
Benzo(a)pyrene (found in emissions from burned plant and petroleum products)
Cadmium (toxic heavy metal that is used in batteries)
B-napthylamine (used in the manufacture of dyes condensation colours and rubber)
Nitrosamine (harsh detergents; commonly used as an engine degreaser)
