Is rap music corrupting our society?

All the bad language, sex, drugs, and violence mentioned in rap music, I believe, is slowly destroying our society and increasing crime rate. Old school rap (the good clean kind) has changed a lot. It was good but now it has become a bad influence for people. It is sending the wrong message to people. What do you think? And I know, there is "good" rap out there. But I am talking about the bad kind.
 
I think it contributes but is not solely responsible for the degradation of society.
 
I agree. same with movies and video games but if you take all that away life would be boring.
 
no it isnt and if you hate rap listen to this guy

and means something

and i write music and music doesnt make anyone
do anything

if it did i guess we could say every other music
is corrupting us its not like rock and country
dont talk about the same things too

i like almost every type of music
so im not saying it just because

and you have the icon of that dude from family

There are a lot of things that can be ''corrupting'' to our society and that includes stupid rappers like Soulja Boy and teenage sluts like Miley Cyrus. Not all rap music is bad though you have to remember there will always be exceptions like Common, Lupe Fiasco, and I don't think Kanye West's music is corruptive or anything either. Most mucisians talk about sex and so on even in pop music, a lot of metal music talks about suicide and things and country well country can dumb you down a bit.
 
if so, then rock and roll is corruptible as well
 
i dont think that rap music is the reason y our society is messed up. just because they sware is a dumb reason. people sware all the time even in rock music 2. rappers hav every rite 2 say what thy want n do what thy want as much as anyother artist. thy aren't the reason society is messed up. there r alot of ppl in the world that r actually doing stuff to our society.
i thnk dat da parents dat care so much bout their children should pay more attention 2 wat their kids listen 2. rap music isnt 4 all lil kids. ppl thnk dat kids r so innocent wen they really arent!
