I am asking this because , my of my Canadian friend ,she is a social working , told me that in her letter to me , They sikhs arrive in Canada claiming refugee status.Saying that their lives are in danger.Most of the times their stories have some similarities.They say that police persecutes them because of religion.They say the police come into their house and took them out, saying that they are part of a terrorist or activist group.The stories then all go around torture by police.She says,from what i have been told situation in punjab is quite terrible.I do not think what you might have heared about it , and i know its a possibility that some people might invent or make worst their stories.So that they can get refugee status in Cananda.This is what she told me about in her letter. (((Now i think, from my experience , it is not all true.Please help me , so that i can give her correct answer.))
