Is Taco Bell's "lava sauce" a sauce or a paste?

My roommate and I are having an argument about this.

I believe that it is a paste like tomato paste. It does not drip when you spoon it out of the container.

She thinks it is a sauce. Though, when I think "sauce", I think spaghetti sauce which is more drippy than a paste.
In response to Joey, tomato paste is not blander, it is actually a concentrate and therefore stronger and sweeter. I'm not talking about tomato paste itself so much as the consistency.

It has tomato paste in it, now a paste from what I believe is just the "juice" from the fruit, BLAND, a sauce is a mixture of the BLANDer paste and a variety of spices.
