Is teaching children about nutrition outdated?

That video is certainly outdated, but it is still better to eat like that than to eat highly processed foods of today. Most of that info still stands today, but there are healthier ways to eat. Hydrogenated fats in margarine are just plain bad for the body and a lot of those foods contain high levels of saturated fats. It does advocate eating balanced meals and that is a key factor in good health and staying lean. People certainly weren't nearly as fat in the 50's as they are today and the thing that changed was the introduction of processed foods (which are garbage).

They were saying that showing that video is outdated. It's from 1954. There has been so much research done since then that the information is outdated. Children won't watch that and pay attention to it because its black and white and boring. If it was an updated version then yes.Children now are used to color with cool graphics and sound effects. That has nothing. So if it was a video like the one Magic School Bus does or something similar then it would be much more effeteness to this generation
