Is the att quickfire supposed to lock when you hit it?

For some reason when ever I hit my quickfire it looks like it is going to turn off, but it locks,the password lock. I didnt know if its supposed to or not so can you please help me b/c i want to return it but im over the 30 day return policy so i want to know if this i serious or not.

You might still be able to get an exchange because I heard there was some kind of recall on the quickfire related to the charger damaging the phone if its put in backwards. I don't know if its true, I just read it on here. But if there is a recall, you should be able to exchange your phone regardless of how old it is. Call At&t.
