Is the Digital Optical In Jack in my Samsung Receiver also called SPDIF?

I have a Samsung HT-C350 Receiver, and it has an Optical In jack. Somehow, I needed to connect my PC to the receiver through a USB Sound Card with SPDIF out. I wanted to retain the 5.1 channel surround system from my PC to the Receiver. Will it work this way?
