Is the "Future's Market" a good thing? What would happen if it did not exist?...
...More stress, or less on economy? My quick take: The futures market allows more time for speculation, and providing more time for speculation always has to be better than less time, since it will tend to dull any overeactions to current events. Its not to say there aren't over reactions---but an overreaction on prices next year is a ot better than an overreaction to prices right now.
I don't understand policiticans who lament about how speculators oare profiteering, and they can somehow fix it with regulation----what in the heck are they talking about? Do they mention any specifics?
