...acetylcholine or what? I know that acetylcholine is one ligand, and I'm pretty sure there's no such thing as nicotinic acetylcholine. So where does nicotine figure in this? Help please.

actually the receptors are opened by primarily acetylcholine and secondarily by nicotine, hence the name nicotinic.
