is the quality of the blueray technology in the PS3 as good as stand alone players?

i would like to watch blueray movies and it would be cool if the PS3 was as good as a stand alone player. Does anyone know?
i dont know if i should get the PS3 or a stand alone blueray player. i dont want to get the PS3 and Blueray movies and not have the BEST quality

It is. You should check out the PS3 review on CNET.com. It compares Blu-ray players and ranks the PS3 as a best buy.

Mind you, Sony is about to release new blu-ray players with more features, so you should check into those to see if they are better for you than a PS3.

I don't know if you will use a PS3 for games, but bear in mind it is a media player as well and you can stream songs from your PC to it to play on an attached home theater system.
