is there a chemical that turns black when introduced to electricity?

is there a chemical that turns black or dark when introduced to an electric current and returns to its original state when the electrical current is taken away?

well you could try sticking your finger in the plug socket for 5 minutes or so. bet it would turn black then. although "finger" is not really a chemical, I don't remember seeing it on the periodic table at anytime. although i know that hair is on there! symbol Hr.
