is there a free avi/divx file converter and dvd burner?

i dont know about burner but mediacoder is the best media converter on youtube theirs tuts on how to use it http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/download.htm
 
try avs. i got it from a friend so im not sure if its free or not. search it.
