Is there a way to assign customized ringtones to different contacts in android?

There are preloaded ringtones to choose from, but I want to use ringtones I've made for each individual contact. It lets me set the ringtones I've made as a general ringtones, but I can't figure out how to assign them to individual contacts.
 
Yes you can. I have the HTC Hero. 1st, go to your contacts list and choose which contact you want to set ring tone for. Next, choose edit contact info. Now on the HTC Hero, it has a choice that says ringtone. Being an Android phone, yours should have the same. Just click that option and it will take you to your ringtones and let you choose a tone for that individual. Hope this helps :) Merry Christmas :)
