Is there anything more American than Baseball, Hot Dogs, Apple Pie and Chevrolet?

You really fell for that White House line?

First of all the majority of the stock was sold to overseas investors (China with the most), and second of all it would have to sell at 53$ a share to break even... not make a profit. And it isn't close to 53$.

And lastly the government owns 1/3 of GM stock still.

Chevrolet is part of GM, and when GM is successful, America is successful. That is why I was so happy to see them do so well this week with their IPO. I look at it as a win for America, because I grew up watching the Dodge Charger, the Road Runner, the Super Bee, and all of the great Chevy Cars and Trucks.

I'm glad you're happy Carl. Naive as hell, but happy. So, you're not distressed about the remaining 26% of GM that we still own and will probably never see payback for the entire amount. You see Carl, GM stock will need to go well beyond $50 per share for us to recover our investment. Not profit by it Carl, just recoup. It's not likely however, since the IPO was already inflated. Most people holding IPO's don't expect to see a rise in prices for a long time, this doesn't bode well for you and I.

Maybe you need to change some of the wording to read: "all the great Ford Mustangs and American Motors Jeeps."

On a scale from 1 to 10, 1 being American, 10 being against and or hate America. Whoever is against an American company that hires thousands of American workers, is a minus 1000 on the America scale. Traitors, Commies, Republicans, scumbags.

that's right, but liberals (and some on the right) don't understand that even if a foreign car is technically made in the US the money/profit still go to other countries. so they buy their toyotas and such and could care less what's really American.

I'm a Ford man now. They don't accept bailouts like Government Motors.

It can only be better if you include the Cubs vs the Sox on the 4th of July at Wrigley Field. I was there. Had a great Italian beef sandwich with a beer and Nachos too.

I did until the bail out of GM. Ford did things the "American" way. Ford did not take any bail out money. They got their house in order by the free market system.
