Is there anyway I can get a free gym membership for obesity?

I am 18yrs old, and neither me or my mother have a job. We continue to look for jobs everyday but right now its like hell to get hired. Anyways, one thing I hate about the government is they can fatten us up with LINK cards yet cut off our health care and tell us to lose weight at the same time. =( I live in a very low income home, and I am wanting to lose weight. My neighbourhood isn't the best place to just take a stroll, and I really want to lose weight but don't have the means to pay for a membership. I heard from someone that I could get a free one for either my household income or my weight. Is that true? And who would I contact about these things?
