I'm the warehouse manager of a cable contracting company and all of our technicians have to return their trucks, keys, and ladders each night and I have to create a report of who did and didn't return the items. At first it was an easy task, but now it has become more of a second job than a nightly task. I was looking into RFID to automatically check these items in every night and I would just send the report at the end of the night. The thing is though, there aren't any readers/writers that can cover a 12' x 30' area for under $3000. The company I work for likes to stretch every dollar until it breaks and won't shell out $2000-$3000 for a smart solution. Is there any RFID solutions out there that are cheaper than $2000?
