Is there such a thing as "cruise control" for a TV remote volume?

I sometimes lose track of how loud my TV is getting. Is there a way to limit how high I can turn it when I'm not paying attention?
 
I'm not sure. I've heard of smart sound that keeps shows from changing much in volume when you change channels, but I've never seen something lock the volume. I do know I have it on a mp3 player though, try checking in the menu and volume control on your T.V.
