I am supposed to write an introduction business letter to my professor and I wanted to know if my letter is understandable and would be considered an introduction business letter. Also, is it bad that I wrote my name in the introduction when I have already put it by my address. Thanks in advance

Dear Ms. Moore:
My name is Jennifer Smith. I am a sophomore majoring in Political Science and currently enrolled in your Technical Communications 3363 course. This spring semester marks my second semester at the University of Houston; I previously attended San Jacinto Community College-South prior to transferring to U of H in fall 2010. My expectation for this particular class is to gain advanced technical writing skills and problem solving skills in writing form.
As defined in the class syllabus, two of the outcomes of this Technical Communications course are to “master technical writing forms” and “use problem solving and systems thinking to inform writing.” I plan to accomplish both of these goals, as well as the rest before the semester ends. While attending San Jacinto Community College, I have successfully completed several English courses, including English Composition 1 and 2, which has provided me with good writing skills. These English courses have prepared me for this specific class.
After completing my studies, I am planning to work as a foreign affairs officer for the US Department of State. One of the duties of this job is to have good technical writing skills and problem solving skills in order to write good and consistent memos to provide accurate information to US consulates on visa policy changes. Also, to resolve issues that might rise in the process of evaluating applications for visas and passports from the public. This course will help me to accomplish that.
