It is a snowy day and you decide to walk to the main road in fear that the bus will not take the regular route because of the snow. On the way, you see the regular girl on the bus who you've never spoken too at the next stop. After passing her and just within sight of the main road, the bus drives past you and you realize you were right to believe it would skip the road you and her would have waited in. You decide to go back and tell her not to wait there because it is unlikely the next bus will pass and you have just seen the bus skip the road. You yourself go to the next earliest bus stop on the main road whilst she walks on to the next most frequent stop in which she can catch more than one bus regular bus you both take. The bus comes and you take it, but she misses it because she is still walking. Whilst feeling a bit guilty and only just trying to help out, was it inevitable she would be late? Perhaps she was late because of you. You never knew whether the next bus did actually take the regular route, but if it didn't then you were right and it would seem she was destined to be late?
