Too bad, Mexico: Solve your own problems

In response to a Times-News article of Feb 28, I agree that the United States should try to stop Mexican gangs from importing weapons across the border. We should certainly put forth as much effort as Mexico has shown in stopping its undocumented citizens pouring across the border, bringing illegal drugs and staying to cripple our education, medical, Social Security and welfare programs.
It's a shame that its drug-dealing gangs are decimating themselves with gunfire instead of machete strokes, but somehow I can, if forced, live with that knowledge.
Isn't it time we finally allow another country to solve its own problems?
Naturally, we should do everything in our power to stop the use of such firepower within our own borders. Perhaps that would show our commitment. Frankly, I've cried myself to sleep too many nights over other countries telling us what we must do to make life better for them (while forever holding out their hands for more of our largess). Sorry, I just don't have any tears left.
