Is time travel possible?

One important thing I would like to say is that if time travel is possible, then why hasn`t anyone come back to our time? In history there are no records describing encounters with "futuristic" people. No one has come back, therefore it cannot be possible to travel back in time. BUT, another thing to think about: if someone is intelligent enough to create such a machine, they would be intelligent enough to know its consequences, and thus not utilize it. What do you think?

Time travel is impossible. An inventor of such a device would have to be able to alter every planet and galaxy in the universe to place them precisely where they were at the time he wishes to visit. Rather difficult, don't you think?

I say it's possible.

But with the many world hypothesis, we may end up in an alternate time stream every time we end up changing things.

How would one PROVE that one has traveled in time?
