Is white wine and white wine viniger the same?

I asked the girlfriend to get white wine and she got white wine viniger instead and it is for a recipe. So not sure if it can be used.

no , not the same
white wine vineger is very sour and is made from the same ingredients as white wine only difference is they are fermented differently .
