I just moved to a new place and it turns out the place I had set aside for the "office" has no DSL/phone jack. Running a long cord stapled all over the place is out of the question.
My other options are to setup the computer where there is a live DSL jack (in the kitchen)... but really don't want to put it there... or I can go wireless. I have never had my desktop wireless before, so I am concerned about a degradation in performance.
The other concern is my desktop will act as a hub between the router and the Xbox, for streaming Netflix and hulu.
If the wireless performance will be about as good as wired, then I will go with that. If not, I may setup the desktop where I don't want it to be.
I could try both, but it is pain to set up and dismantle desktops, so I am asking the Answer community for the right answer! Thanks.
