Isn't it a bit arbitrary the way Christians believe some but not all the commands...

...in the Bible? How do you decide what to take literally and what not?
Actually I'm an atheist...

Those who are filled with the Holy Spirit have the faith from only God to believe the Bible 100% and attempt to follow His laws. Those that are not of His Holy Spirit do not.

im christian and i believe all the commandments in the bible, dont judge all christians like that just because some christians like the easy way

you noticed that too eh?
Also, what i wanna know is why they follow some guy who was just one day like "everyone! im the son of god! i know what he wants! listen to me and do as i do!"
Guaruntee you that if some chick got pregnant today and claimed to be a virgin everyone would laugh in her face! And if her son said he was the son of god... everyone would laugh in his face!!!!! haha. Why wouldn't God want to have more children? I don't see why if it was believable back then, why it wouldn't be now? hahaha!
I think that REAL Christians are fine, i dont beleive in the same thing as the, but they are the ones who follow the bible word for word, who attend church EVERY sunday and refuse to work on sunday, the ones who care for and love their family unconditionally, who waited until marriage to have sex and who have never even thought of cheating on their spouse, and mroe than anything, allow others to believe in their own thing and won't get all "Goddy" on those of us who don't feel the same, those are the only Christians that i can respect. And i have never met a single one of them! my boyfriend is friends with ONE and only one, and he is the only one that i am willing to show any respect to

Yes it is arbitrary and you should not take any of it literally.

The arbitrary part is people calling themselves believers when they choose the parts of the book that they don't like and throw them out. The whole thing is true. It is the history of man on the earth and a list of stories about things that our Father likes and dislikes, so that we have something to compare our own actions to
